I loved Wind Waker, but the sailing system wasn’t exactly engineered for hitting a small, fixed location.
Read the next comic on Tapastic!
First,so thats what happened to philippines.
You’d figure he’d break out the oars by now
Since I’m not sure whether you mean in the game or in the comic, I’ll just assume I am the first one to tell him there was indeed a rowing system in the game and wallow in his anger as he remember all the missied opportunities.
This “Dave” is an imposter. I’m the real Dave.
Happened to me so many times.
you ARE aware, that you can simply move slowly (i think its by pressing R in the original) without any wind?
It’s a joke. I’m sure anyone who has played WW already knows that.
You can also stop on a dime by bringing out your grappling hook. As you approach a shiny place, note where it is in the ocean. It’s much easier if there happens to be “foam” (the white lines) so you can keep your eye on a specific thing. Track where the shiny is, and stop right next to it. If you’re off slightly, use R in a circle and try again.
I actually don’t remember that. I just remember changing the wind a billion times just to hit a spot. I guess I should’ve replayed the game before making jokes. It’s been years since I played.
And then the sunken treasure turns out to be 1 rupee
Or a useless old pot… :I I swear to god I found a pot off the coast of Dragonroost or something in my first playthrough. My memory is hazy on the location, but I swear that I dredged up a pot… :I
Story of my life. Right there.
wow link. you need to slow down and think before you squash the lives of those NPC’s under you lol
So similar to http://www.awkwardzombie.com/index.php?page=0&comic=070113 …
It’s not that similar \:3 It’s not even the same game. And I’m sure there are plenty of other jokes regarding force changing weather in games.
Yeah, for example :
But I still laugh at all the variations of this joke. ^^
And also : http://www.dorkly.com/comic/40421/omocat-night-day
How about this one? Same game, same joke: May 5th, 2008.
Oops? Sorry I had the same thought? I didn’t mean to beat a dead horse with the joke.
it’s a terrible joke that intentionally omits information, thus ruining the damn joke for anyone who has ACTUALLY played the game. THAT’S NOT HOW YOU DO GAME HUMOR
Nothing was intentionally omitted. Blame it on a faulty memory. Criticism acknowledged.
What actually happened to Great Fish Isle.
But what can you do!
GamerCat Learned the Ballad of Gales!
I find it funny how people are negative about every little thing
Well the first joke, that it’s hard to pinpoint treasure spots using the sail, is a stupid non-joke because that’s what pressing R to cruise is for.
The second joke, that the Wind Waker causes massive destruction offscreen via deadly weather, is taken almost explicitly from an Awkward Zombie comic back in 2008: Butterfly Effect (http://awkwardzombie.com/index.php?page=0&comic=050508)
One is a joke that’s unfunny to anyone who actually played the game, and the other is out-and-out Joke theft. So yeah, people might have a little negative reaction there.
I REALLY want a charm of Glitch holding a Gameboy! ( See comic: what the cat dragged in) Or a cartoon Annoyingfairy… I personally would by those for the prices you have. Great work, and AWSOME comic. ( My friends won’t stop asking where I got my other cute GaMERCaT charm so I think this would be good business)
BTW you should really get plushes of GaMERCaT and Glitch!
Well now we know what happened in The Wizard of Oz.
I know the feeling…
