I love both vgcats and gamercat. I look to vgcats for his negative reviews, while I look to gamercat for her cute positive thoughts on games. Though I admit I lean more to gamercat because vgcats could get a bit perverted, but he’s a guy, so it’s expected.
Similar ideas always and will happen. To me I like when that happens, it means I get to see it in more than one way. xb

I like your comic much better than the other. I’ve had similar ideas to comics before, but I’ve always managed to represent an old joke in a unique and funny way, like you’ve done. Even if you knew the joke existed, an idea is not copyright. You have every right to make this.
And i love it! It’s awesome, funnier, and less gory. Much better than the other. It’s original.

I do enjoy VG Cats, but their updates have gotten so slow, I don’t even bother to check their website. And personally, while Scott has a nice style, I would still prefer The Gamercat to VG Cats even if they updated more often.

Nothing is original nowadays :) It is all in the execution, and for all intents and purposes, having read both yours and VGCats’version, I can safely say I consider yours better, both in artistic execution and punchline. So keep it up :)
I think I enjoyed reading the comments more than the comic on this one. Although it isn’t a bad one. Plus I don’t fault the artist/writer for such an incident. If one were to pay attention to other things that have small pools of inspirational material you will likely find similarity between them. Take visual kei for one example they are groups within their own right and have a distinctive sound if you listen long enough but to an outsider they all seem the same or nearly the same. Which given the fact that some do come from an old band that disbanded then formed a new band from fragments of other ones similarities are bound to occur. Now to apply that knowledge to this: two comics with a similar theme. One they both are cat related and two they have a common game. Its not surpising that out of the millions of people two webcomics with similar basings would create a similar comic and who knows this VGcats person could”ve gotten it from someone else perhaps an artist who was doing as a fan art with the characters of the game. Now chew on that Ima go on reading
